The Oaks Free Skills Clinics are non-contact and aim to introduce rugby to new players as well as reinforce skills to returning players. Veteran Oaks coaches will be on-hand, teaching players of all skills levels. Clinics are available for Under-8, -10, and -12 age groups as well as Middle-School and High-School. Further details and registration may be found
HERE
. The clinic only requires you have athletic wear (shirt and shorts) and cleats.
Are the clinics mandatory?
Not at all, but we do highly encourage participation in the clinics as they help develop important skills that help improve safe and competitive play.
Cleats
Cleats can be football cleats, soccer cleats, rugby boots or molded turf cleats. Please be mindful that most football cleats have a toe cleat.
These are not legal in rugby for safety reasons. There are several online options to buy rugby boots. Keep in mind the majority of games will be played on artificial turf.
Mouthguard
Mouth Guards should not have any pieces extending outside the mouth, such as an attachment for a football helmet. Tooth implants, gold teeth or 'grills' that are removable should be removed for rugby. If permanent, they must be covered by a mouth guard.
Player Equipment and Uniform (Kit)
All players are required to wear the Oaks rugby kit for games. You can purchase the kits during registration.
