The Academy program is for High School players that have not reached the age of 19 by September 1.  All players must be enrolled, attending and in good standing in a high school or an equivalent non-post secondary educational program or institution (home schooled). The player must be within four (4) years of the moment the player first enrolled in the ninth grade, regardless of when the player started playing rugby or had the ability to start playing rugby. Players may also be eligible if they would otherwise be in high school but have graduated early by virtue of early graduation and/or passing or in the process of passing the GED.

The Oaks High School program provides opportunities for all skill levels. Our Varsity side will play in the Rugby NorCal Premier League.  Our Academy side offers players a competitive platform with the focus on skill development, confidence, and long-term growth in the game.

At registration, all players will sign up under the HS Boys Varsity team. After player assessments during the season, athletes will be placed on the team (Varsity or Academy) that best fits their safety, experience, and development needs.

Other Useful Resources

BBC Sport / Rugby Laws & Equipment

We highly recommended reading Rugby for Dummies for those whom are new to rugby.  Even those whom have been around the game for a few years may benefit. It is well written and makes the game so much more fun to watch! (When is a "ruck" formed? What is a "maul"? What the heck did the referee just call?)
